Which Assassin's Creed protagonist is a pirate captain named Edward Kenway?
Answer
Edward Kenway
Answer
Edward Kenway
Edward Kenway is the pirate captain protagonist of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Edward is a Welsh privateer-turned-pirate who becomes entangled with both the Assassins and Templars during the Golden Age of Piracy. His adventures take place in the Caribbean in the early 18th century, where naval travel, ship combat, and island exploration form major parts of the game.
Edward steals the identity of an Assassin named Duncan Walpole, and that decision draws him into the wider conflict. His personal ambition initially differs from the Brotherhood's ideals, but his experiences gradually change his understanding of loyalty, freedom, and responsibility.
Haytham Kenway is Edward's son and an important character in Assassin's Creed III. Connor Kenway is Edward's grandson and the main historical protagonist of that same game, while Edward Thatch is the real historical pirate better known as Blackbeard.
