Which Assassin’s Creed game was the first to let players choose between two principal protagonists, Alexios and Kassandra?
Answer
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Answer
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the first Assassin’s Creed game to let players choose between Alexios and Kassandra as its principal protagonist.
Released in 2018, Odyssey is set in Greece during the fifth century BCE, in the period of the Peloponnesian War. At the beginning, players select either Alexios or Kassandra to portray the mercenary known as the Eagle Bearer. The selected character remains the playable lead throughout the main story.
The choice changes the performer and presentation of the protagonist, while the broad historical setting and major narrative structure remain shared. Ubisoft’s later canonical material identifies Kassandra as the central version of the character, but the game itself allows either choice for the player.
Odyssey is sometimes confused with Valhalla, which centers on Eivor, or Syndicate, which features Jacob and Evie Frye. Its ancient Greek setting and selectable lead distinguish it from both games.
