Which Assassin's Creed game takes place mainly in Paris during the French Revolution?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Unity takes place mainly in Paris during the French Revolution.

Ubisoft released the game in 2014, and its story follows Arno Dorian, an Assassin operating in France from the late 1780s into the revolutionary period. Paris is recreated as a large open-world city filled with landmarks, crowds, political unrest, and factional conflict.

The game includes historical figures such as Maximilien Robespierre and Napoleon Bonaparte. Its plot uses the Revolution as a backdrop for a personal investigation involving the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templars.

Unity is sometimes confused with Syndicate because both games are set in Europe and feature co-operative elements or urban exploration. Syndicate, however, is set in Victorian London. Unity is specifically associated with revolutionary Paris and introduced four-player online co-operative missions.
