Which Assassin's Creed game is set primarily in Rome during the Italian Renaissance?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the Assassin's Creed game set primarily in Renaissance Rome.

The game continues Ezio Auditore's story after Assassin's Creed II and places him in Rome, where the Borgia family and their allies dominate political and economic life. Ezio works to rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood and oppose Cesare Borgia, while the city itself becomes the main environment for exploration and missions.

Brotherhood introduced a stronger recruitment system in which Ezio could enlist and train new Assassins. Recruits could be summoned during missions, sent on assignments, and promoted through the Brotherhood's ranks. The game also added multiplayer to the series for the first time in a major release.

Assassin's Creed II includes several Italian cities, including Florence and Venice, but Rome is not its sole main setting. Revelations later moves Ezio to Constantinople, while Unity moves the series to revolutionary Paris.
