Which Assassin's Creed game is set primarily in Rome and features Assassin recruits?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the game set primarily in Rome and featuring Assassin recruits. Released in 2010, it continues Ezio Auditore's story after Assassin's Creed II. Ezio travels to Rome to oppose the Borgia family, whose power has damaged the city and the Assassin order.

A major addition is the Brotherhood system. Ezio can rescue potential recruits, train them, and send them on missions across Europe. Recruits can also assist him during gameplay, making the organization itself an important part of the campaign.

Rome serves as both the main setting and a large area that players gradually restore. Rebuilding shops, landmarks, and services improves the city and gives Ezio access to more resources. The game also includes a multiplayer mode built around rival agents and stealth.

Assassin's Creed II includes Rome but moves among several Italian cities, so it is not the Rome-centered entry. Revelations continues Ezio's story mainly in Constantinople, while Assassin's Creed III shifts to colonial North America.
