Released in 2017, Origins follows Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay who becomes involved in the beginnings of the Hidden Ones, the organization that develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. Its story takes place during the Ptolemaic period, including the reign of Cleopatra VII and the rise of Julius Caesar’s influence in Egypt.

The open world includes Alexandria, Memphis, Cyrene, and the Great Sphinx region. Origins also introduced major role-playing changes to the main series, including experience levels, equipment rarity, and a more extensive skill tree.
