Which Assassin's Creed game is set during the American Revolution and stars Ratonhnhaké:ton?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed III is set during the American Revolution and stars Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Released in 2012, the game follows Ratonhnhaké:ton, who uses the name Connor during much of the story. He is a Kanien'kehá:ka man who becomes an Assassin while seeking to protect his community and oppose Templar influence during the conflict between Britain and the American revolutionaries.

The historical campaign spans events from the mid-eighteenth century into the early years of the United States. Major figures appearing in the story include George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Charles Lee. The game also introduces frontier exploration and hunting alongside missions in Boston and New York.

Assassin's Creed Liberation shares the broader revolutionary-era setting but stars Aveline de Grandpré and was originally released for PlayStation Vita. Assassin's Creed III's protagonist is therefore specifically Ratonhnhaké:ton, commonly called Connor, rather than Aveline.
