Which Assassin’s Creed game introduced the recurring character Desmond Miles?
Answer
Assassin’s Creed
Answer
Assassin’s Creed
The original Assassin’s Creed game introduced the recurring character Desmond Miles.
Desmond is a modern-day descendant of several important Assassins. In the first game, Abstergo Industries forces him to use the Animus, a machine that lets him relive genetic memories belonging to his ancestor Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. Desmond’s modern scenes frame the historical campaign and establish the series’ dual timelines.
He returns as the modern-day protagonist in Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations, and he also appears in Assassin’s Creed III. Through the Animus, Desmond accesses memories linked to Altaïr, Ezio Auditore, and Ratonhnhaké:ton. His storyline connects the games’ historical adventures to a larger present-day conflict.
Assassin’s Creed II substantially expands Desmond’s role, which can lead to confusion about where he first appears. His debut, however, is in the 2007 original game, alongside the first appearance of Altaïr’s historical campaign.
