Which Assassin's Creed game introduced the playable character Bayek's wife, Aya, as a major co-protagonist?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Origins introduced Aya as a major co-protagonist alongside Bayek.

Assassin's Creed Origins follows Bayek of Siwa and Aya during the first century BCE. Aya is a skilled Medjay ally and Bayek's wife, and the story gives her several playable sequences and major narrative responsibilities. Her actions connect the Egyptian setting to political events involving Cleopatra and Julius Caesar.

The game depicts the formation of the Hidden Ones, the historical organization that develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. Bayek and Aya create this group after confronting forces that threaten Egypt and the people they protect. Origins therefore serves as an origin story for the series' Assassin tradition.

Aya is not the protagonist of Odyssey or Valhalla. Odyssey centers on Kassandra or Alexios, while Valhalla follows Eivor. Origins also differs from earlier entries by using a larger role-playing structure, including levels, equipment rarity, and ability trees.
