Which Assassin's Creed game introduced the modern-day Animus user Layla Hassan?
Answer
Assassin's Creed Origins
Answer
Assassin's Creed Origins
Assassin's Creed Origins introduced the modern-day Animus user Layla Hassan.
Layla is a former Abstergo Industries employee who develops and uses a modified Animus to explore the memories of Bayek and Aya. Her modern-day investigation forms the framework connecting the ancient Egyptian story to the wider Assassin-Templar conflict.
Origins marked a major change in the series' modern-day presentation. Instead of controlling Desmond Miles, players follow Layla, whose independent research brings her into direct conflict with Abstergo and the Templars. She returns as the modern-day protagonist in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The historical protagonists of those later games are different: Kassandra or Alexios in Odyssey, and Eivor in Valhalla. That makes it easy to confuse the games' leads, but Layla's first appearance as the Animus user occurs in Origins, released in 2017.
