Which Assassin’s Creed game introduced the Brotherhood management system centered on Rome?

The story behind the answer

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood introduced the Brotherhood management system centered on Rome.

The game continues Ezio Auditore’s story after Assassin’s Creed II and places him primarily in Renaissance Rome. Ezio recruits and trains new Assassins, then assigns them to missions across Europe or calls on them during combat.

This system expanded the series beyond controlling one hero. Rebuilding the Roman Brotherhood became part of the game’s progression, alongside liberating districts, restoring shops, and weakening the Borgia family’s influence.

Assassin’s Creed II established Ezio and introduced many of the series’ role-playing systems, but Brotherhood made organized Assassin recruitment and deployment a central mechanic. Revelations later continued Ezio’s journey in Constantinople and expanded the story toward Altaïr’s legacy.
