Which Assassin's Creed game follows Shay Cormac after he turns against the Assassin Brotherhood?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Rogue follows Shay Cormac after he turns against the Assassin Brotherhood.

Shay Patrick Cormac begins the game as an Assassin operating in the North Atlantic during the Seven Years' War. After a traumatic event and a growing disagreement with the Brotherhood's methods, he defects to the Templars and hunts former allies. This reversal makes Shay the first main playable protagonist in the series to openly serve the Templar cause for most of a game.

Rogue was released in 2014. Its naval gameplay builds on Black Flag, while its story connects directly to Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Unity. The game includes a young Haytham Kenway and depicts events that lead toward the opening circumstances of Unity.

Rogue is often confused with Unity because both launched in the same year and their stories overlap historically. Unity follows Arno Dorian in revolutionary France; Rogue follows Shay across the North Atlantic and colonial America.
