Which Assassin's Creed game first introduced the Assassin protagonist Connor Kenway?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed III first introduced Connor Kenway as its Assassin protagonist.

Connor's birth name is Ratonhnhaké:ton, and he is a member of the Kanien'kehá:ka, also known as the Mohawk. The game follows his involvement in the American Revolution and his conflict with Templar forces in the Thirteen Colonies.

Connor is trained by Achilles Davenport, a former Assassin who lives at a homestead. The story also includes his father, Haytham Kenway, whose perspective opens the game. This family relationship is a major reason players sometimes associate Connor with the Kenway name before remembering his Indigenous birth name.

Assassin's Creed III was released in 2012. Assassin's Creed Liberation, released around the same period, follows Aveline de Grandpré instead, so it is not the game that introduced Connor.
