Ezio Auditore is the central protagonist of Assassin's Creed's Italian Renaissance trilogy.
The trilogy consists of Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Ezio begins as a young Florentine nobleman and becomes an Assassin after his family is executed as part of a political conspiracy.
His story spans several decades and takes him through Florence, Venice, Rome, and Constantinople. Across the three games, he confronts Templar leaders, builds an Assassin network, and encounters the legacy of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.
Ezio is often confused with Altaïr because both are major historical heroes and appear in related memories. However, Altaïr leads the original game, while Ezio is the playable protagonist of the Renaissance trilogy. Ezio also appears in the short animated film Assassin's Creed: Embers.
