Alexandria is a major ancient Egyptian city setting in Assassin's Creed Origins.
The game takes place in Ptolemaic Egypt during the first century BCE, and Alexandria is one of its most important urban locations. The city was a major Mediterranean center of scholarship, trade, and political power, and the game includes landmarks inspired by its ancient architecture and institutions.
Origins follows Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay who becomes involved in the events that lead to the formation of the Hidden Ones, the precursor organization to the Assassin Brotherhood. Bayek's investigations take him across Egypt, including Siwa, Memphis, Alexandria, and the Nile Delta.
Memphis is also a prominent location in Origins, which makes it a plausible alternative. Athens and Sparta belong mainly to the Greek setting of Assassin's Creed Odyssey rather than Origins.
