Answer
Peloponnesian War
Answer
Peloponnesian War
The Peloponnesian War is the historical setting of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The conflict between Athens and Sparta lasted from 431 to 404 BCE and dominates the game's depiction of classical Greece.
Odyssey begins in 431 BCE, at the start of the war. Players control either Kassandra or Alexios, mercenaries who become involved in family conflicts, political struggles, and the activities of the Cult of Kosmos.
The game presents a large version of the Greek world, including Athens, Sparta, the Aegean islands, and parts of the Greek mainland. Its story is fictional, but it includes historical figures such as Socrates, Pericles, Aspasia, and Alcibiades.
The Peloponnesian War is sometimes confused with the Persian Wars, which occurred earlier, or with the later Macedonian Wars. Odyssey's setting predates the Roman imperial period shown in several other Assassin's Creed games.
