The Alphabet company that delivers packages using autonomous drones is Wing.
Wing began as a project within Google X, Alphabet’s research and development organization. It became an independent Alphabet subsidiary in 2018. Wing develops electric delivery drones and software that coordinates flights, deliveries, and interactions with local airspace systems.
The company began commercial delivery trials in Australia and later expanded services to other markets, including the United States and Finland. Wing drones lower packages on a tether rather than landing at every destination. Wing is often confused with Waymo, but Waymo concentrates on autonomous road vehicles. Project Loon, another former Alphabet project, worked on high-altitude balloons for internet connectivity.
