It reached No. 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100, topped the US Club Play chart, and helped establish Chic as one of disco’s most important bands. The song had initially been released as a single on Buddah Records before appearing on the album.
A common mix-up is C’est Chic, the group’s 1978 follow-up album. That record contained “Le Freak,” while Risqué, released in 1979, featured “Good Times.” Real People came later, in 1980. The debut album itself also included “Everybody Dance,” another early Chic club and chart success.
