Which actress plays the Armorer in The Mandalorian?

Emily Swallow plays the Armorer in The Mandalorian. The character is the calm, authoritative leader of Din Djarin’s covert and serves as both its spiritual guide and master armorer.

The Armorer forges and repairs beskar armor, preserves Mandalorian rituals, and teaches the group’s strict interpretation of the Creed. Her signature phrase, “This is the Way,” became one of the series’ most recognizable lines. She also gives Din important guidance about protecting Grogu and seeking out the Jedi.

Swallow provides both the Armorer’s voice and her live-action performance. Her stunt work was performed by Lauren Mary Kim, whose combat style for the character drew on the Filipino martial art Kali. The Armorer’s deliberate movements and ceremonial presence were partly inspired by samurai cinema and the films of Akira Kurosawa.

Viewers sometimes confuse Swallow with Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze, or Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano. Unlike those characters, the Armorer remains almost constantly masked, making Swallow’s vocal performance especially important.
