Which actress plays horse owner May Carleton?

Charlotte Riley plays the horse owner May Fitz Carleton.

May Carleton is introduced as a wealthy widow who owns racehorses. She hires Tommy Shelby to train one of her horses, creating a relationship that mixes business, attraction and the social distance between Tommy's criminal world and May's privileged background.

May appears in series 2 and returns in series 4. Her knowledge of racing and her independent position make her different from several women in Tommy's orbit: she is not recruited into the Shelby organization, but she can negotiate with Tommy as an experienced owner and employer.

The character's full name is May Fitz Carleton, and she is sometimes referred to simply as May Carleton. A common mix-up is choosing Kate Phillips, who plays Linda Shelby, or Aimee-Ffion Edwards, who plays Esme Shelby-Lee. Charlotte Riley is also known for roles in Edge of Tomorrow and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.
