Which actor voices Gingy in the Shrek films?

The story behind the answer

Conrad Vernon voices Gingy in the Shrek films.

Gingy, also called the Gingerbread Man, is a small gingerbread character who appears in the Shrek series. He first becomes memorable in the original Shrek during Lord Farquaad’s interrogation of fairy-tale characters. The character later returns in sequels and other franchise productions.

Vernon is an American animator, storyboard artist, director, and voice actor who worked extensively with DreamWorks Animation. In addition to voicing Gingy, he co-directed Shrek 2 and later directed animated films including Monsters vs. Aliens and Sausage Party.

The voice credit can be confused with other performers because Vernon also voices or contributes to several animated characters across different films. Gingy’s distinctive scenes, including his references to his “buttons,” made the supporting character one of the franchise’s most recognizable comic figures.
