Which actor voiced Mater in Pixar’s Cars movies?

Larry the Cable Guy voiced Mater in Pixar’s Cars movies.

Mater is a rusty tow truck and one of Lightning McQueen’s closest friends. His country humor, enthusiastic storytelling, and loyalty make him one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.

Larry the Cable Guy is the stage name of comedian Daniel Lawrence Whitney. His performance uses the comedian’s familiar voice and comic timing, but Mater is written as more than comic relief: he helps McQueen understand friendship, humility, and community.

Mater appears prominently in all three Cars feature films. He also leads the short-form series Mater’s Tall Tales, in which he describes wildly exaggerated adventures that may or may not have happened as he tells them.
