Which actor portrays Alfie Solomons?
Answer
Tom Hardy
Answer
Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy portrays Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders.
Alfie is a Jewish gang leader based in Camden Town, London, and first appears in the second series. He runs criminal businesses including an illegal distillery and becomes one of Tommy Shelby’s most unpredictable rivals, allies, and occasional business partners. His shifting loyalties and deliberately theatrical manner make him one of the series’ most distinctive supporting characters.
The role was written as a fictionalised version of the real London gangster Alfred Solomon, though the television character is substantially shaped by Steven Knight’s drama. Hardy’s performance is especially recognisable for Alfie’s rapid, cryptic speeches and dark humour. Viewers sometimes confuse him with Arthur Shelby, played by Paul Anderson, or Michael Gray, played by Finn Cole. Cillian Murphy, meanwhile, plays the central character Tommy Shelby—not Alfie. Hardy continued in the role through the show’s later series, despite Alfie’s apparently fatal shooting at the end of season 4.
