Which actor portrayed Johnny Cage in the 1995 film Mortal Kombat?

Linden Ashby portrayed Johnny Cage in the 1995 film Mortal Kombat.

Ashby’s Johnny Cage is a Hollywood action star who joins Liu Kang and Sonya Blade on Shang Tsung’s island. The character’s arrogant humor and fighting ability provide much of the film’s comic relief.

The movie also starred Robin Shou as Liu Kang, Bridgette Wilson as Sonya Blade, and Christopher Lambert as Raiden. These casting choices are sometimes confused because all four characters are central to the film’s story.

Johnny Cage was absent from the 2021 Mortal Kombat film, although the ending sets up his possible appearance in a sequel. In the games, he is one of the series’ recurring Earthrealm heroes and a frequent source of self-aware humor.
