Brent Norwalk, a test subject in the experimental Good Place, is played by Ben Koldyke. Brent is the fourth human selected for Michael's redesigned afterlife experiment.
Unlike the original four subjects, Brent is a wealthy, arrogant corporate executive whose behavior makes him especially difficult to reform. He begins the experiment convinced that he belongs in the Good Place, even when his actions repeatedly reveal selfishness, entitlement, and prejudice.
Brent's role tests whether genuine moral improvement can happen when a person is placed in an artificial neighborhood and encouraged to reflect on his choices. His confidence also creates a common misunderstanding: the experimental Good Place is not the genuine afterlife destination, but a controlled test created after Michael and the others challenge the old system.
Ben Koldyke's performance makes Brent intentionally unpleasant while leaving room for the possibility of change. Koldyke is also known for roles in Masters of Sex, The Finest Hours, and the television series Rutherford Falls.
