Which actor played the young boy Stepan in Mr. Bean’s Holiday?
Answer
Max Baldry
Answer
Max Baldry
Max Baldry played the young boy Stepan in Mr. Bean’s Holiday.
Stepan becomes separated from his father during Mr. Bean’s journey through France. Because Stepan speaks little English and Mr. Bean speaks very little French, the pair communicate through gestures, drawings, and comic misunderstandings. Their improvised journey forms the emotional center of the film.
Max Baldry was a child actor when he appeared in the 2007 movie. The role required him to perform alongside Rowan Atkinson while much of the comedy depended on physical action rather than lengthy conversations. Stepan’s separation from his father also gives the story a clear objective: Mr. Bean must help reunite the boy with his family.
The character is sometimes remembered simply as “the boy,” but the film identifies him as Stepan. Baldry later became known for other screen roles, including work in television drama.
