Simon Masrani is the chief executive of Masrani Global Corporation and the owner of Jurassic World, the operational dinosaur theme park on Isla Nublar. Khan portrays him as enthusiastic and charismatic, but also as a businessman whose confidence and desire to satisfy visitors help create dangerous decisions.

In the film, Masrani oversees the park’s newest attraction, the genetically engineered Indominus rex. He initially wants the animal captured alive because of the investment in its creation, even after its behavior demonstrates how unpredictable it is. Masrani later pilots a helicopter while attempting to help stop the escaped hybrid, despite still being inexperienced as a pilot.

Viewers sometimes confuse Khan’s character with Henry Wu, the geneticist played by BD Wong, or with park manager Claire Dearing, played by Bryce Dallas Howard. Khan’s performance is also notable because Jurassic World was one of his major Hollywood roles before his death in 2020.
