Which actor played Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis?

The story behind the answer

Tom Hardy played Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis.

Shinzon is a genetically engineered clone of Jean-Luc Picard. The Romulans created him as part of a plan involving the Reman labor population, but he was abandoned on Remus and eventually rose to become the leader of the Remans. By the film’s beginning, he has seized power on Romulus and is negotiating with the Romulan Senate.

Hardy’s performance presents Shinzon as both a political threat and a distorted reflection of Picard. The character’s genetic connection to the captain creates the film’s central personal conflict, while his deteriorating health motivates his search for a treatment.

Eric Bana is a frequent mix-up because he played Nero, the Romulan villain in Star Trek (2009). Jason Isaacs and Clive Owen did not play major roles in this film. Nemesis was released in 2002 and directed by Stuart Baird.
