Which actor played Irma Gobb, Mr. Bean’s girlfriend in the original series?

Matilda Ziegler played Irma Gobb, Mr. Bean’s girlfriend in the original series.

Irma Gobb appears as one of the few recurring people in Mr. Bean’s life. She is more socially conventional than Bean and often reacts with understandable frustration to his selfishness, misunderstandings, and elaborate attempts to solve simple problems. Her presence gives several stories a relationship-based comic structure.

Ziegler appeared as Irma in the original live-action programme, including episodes involving the cinema, Christmas, and domestic misunderstandings. The role is remembered even though Irma does not appear in every episode and the series does not develop a conventional romantic storyline.

The character should not be confused with Mrs. Wicket, the landlady in the animated series, or with actresses connected to the Mr. Bean films. Matilda Ziegler’s credit specifically belongs to the original television portrayal of Irma Gobb.
