Emma Watson played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films based on J.K. Rowling’s novels. Watson appeared as Hermione in all eight films released between 2001 and 2011.
Hermione is one of Harry Potter’s closest friends and is portrayed as exceptionally intelligent, hardworking, and courageous. She becomes a central member of the trio alongside Harry and Ron Weasley, contributing research, planning, and magical skill throughout the series.
Watson was born in Paris in 1990 and was cast as Hermione when she was a child. The role made her internationally famous, and she later studied at Brown University and worked in films including The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, and Beauty and the Beast.
Bonnie Wright played Ginny Weasley, Evanna Lynch played Luna Lovegood, and Katie Leung played Cho Chang. Those characters are also important in the films, but none played Hermione, whose character was portrayed by Watson across the complete movie series.
