Which actor played Harry Potter in all eight main films adapted from J.K. Rowling’s books?
Answer
Daniel Radcliffe
Answer
Daniel Radcliffe
Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter in all eight main films adapted from J.K. Rowling’s books.
Radcliffe first appeared as Harry in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, released in 2001, and returned for every subsequent film in the main series. The final production, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, was released in 2011. His performance made him internationally famous while he was still a child.
Rupert Grint played Ron Weasley and Emma Watson played Hermione Granger throughout the same eight-film run. Those three performers formed the central trio, which is why their roles are sometimes mixed up in quick recollections of the cast.
The film series has eight movies rather than seven because the final novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was split into two cinematic parts. Radcliffe did not play Harry in the later stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; that play features an adult Harry portrayed by different actors.
