BD Wong played geneticist Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic Park and the Jurassic World films.
Wu first appeared in Michael Crichton's 1990 novel and in the 1993 film adaptation, where his screen time was brief. He is the chief geneticist responsible for recreating dinosaurs through genetic engineering, making him one of the franchise's most important scientific figures.
Wong returned to the role in Jurassic World, released in 2015, where Wu leads the team that creates the hybrid Indominus rex. He also appears in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion, as well as related animated series and games.
The character is sometimes mistaken for a purely villainous scientist, but the films give him a more complicated arc. Wu's work is repeatedly exploited by corporate and military interests, and in Dominion he helps confront Biosyn's ecological scheme involving genetically modified locusts. Wong is the only actor from the original Jurassic Park film to appear in Jurassic World.
