Which actor played Chef Brockett on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood?

Don Brockett played Chef Brockett on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. The character was a baker associated with Brockett's Bakery and appeared in the show's “real” neighborhood segments.

Brockett was a Pittsburgh actor, comedian, producer, and director. His connection to Fred Rogers' program reflected the show's strong local identity: many performers and settings were rooted in Pittsburgh, where the series was produced for much of its run.

Don Brockett was also active outside children's television. He appeared in films including Flashdance, Fletch Lives, The Silence of the Lambs, and Bob Roberts. He remained a recognizable Pittsburgh performer until his death in 1995.

A common mix-up is confusing Chef Brockett with other recurring performers. Bob Trow played Bob Dog and other roles, while David Newell played Mr. McFeely. John Reilly portrayed several characters, including Mr. McFeely before Newell took over, but he was not Chef Brockett.
