The Lost Boys received the 2026 Tony Award for Best Original Score for music and lyrics by The Rescues.
The Rescues wrote the music and lyrics for The Lost Boys, a new musical based on the 1987 film of the same name. The show’s score helped translate the film’s supernatural story into a stage production with original songs.
The category covered original music and lyrics written specifically for theatre. Other nominated scores came from Schmigadoon!, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, and Death of a Salesman.
The Lost Boys also received 12 nominations, tying Schmigadoon! for the ceremony’s highest nomination total. It won four awards overall, including Best Musical, making its score victory part of a strong showing across major and craft categories.
