Which 2025 animated film won the Animated Film award at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards?

KPop Demon Hunters won the Animated Film award at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.

The film is an animated musical fantasy about a K-pop girl group who secretly protect their fans from supernatural threats. It was produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released on Netflix in 2025.

Its Golden Globe victory placed it ahead of other nominated animated features, including Zootopia 2, Elio, Arco, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, and Little Amélie or the Character of Rain. The award recognized the film itself rather than an individual voice performer or song.

KPop Demon Hunters also won the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Original Song for “Golden.” That means the film collected awards in both an animation category and a music category, a distinction that can cause confusion when people remember only its soundtrack success.
