Which 2019 Disney film features Beyoncé voicing Nala?

The story behind the answer

The 2019 Disney film The Lion King features Beyoncé voicing Nala.

The Lion King is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney’s 1994 traditionally animated film. Jon Favreau directed the 2019 version, and Beyoncé provided the voice of the adult Nala, a lioness who is Simba’s childhood friend and later partner.

Donald Glover voiced Simba, while James Earl Jones reprised his role as Mufasa from the original film. The voice cast also included Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa.

Beyoncé contributed to the film’s soundtrack and curated The Lion King: The Gift, an album inspired by the story and its themes. She also starred in and helped create Black Is King, a 2020 visual album film connected to that project. Nala is therefore a film character, while The Gift is a separate music release.
