Virgil Abloh founded Off-White as a luxury streetwear brand in 2012.
Abloh launched the label in Milan under the name “Pyrex Vision” before developing it into Off-White. The company became known for quotation marks, industrial graphics, diagonal stripes and a deliberate blend of streetwear codes with luxury fashion.
Off-White’s collaborations with Nike, IKEA and other major companies helped bring Abloh’s design language to a broad audience. The brand also became closely associated with the growing overlap between sneaker culture, contemporary art and high fashion.
Off-White is sometimes dated to the Pyrex Vision period, but the Off-White label itself was established in 2012.
