Which 1993 biographical film about Oskar Schindler stars Liam Neeson?

The story behind the answer

The 1993 biographical film about Oskar Schindler starring Liam Neeson is Schindler's List.

Directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, the film is based on Thomas Keneally’s 1982 historical novel Schindler’s Ark. Neeson plays Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who used his factories and influence to protect more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish people during the Holocaust.

The film also stars Ben Kingsley as Schindler’s accountant Itzhak Stern and Ralph Fiennes as the brutal SS officer Amon Göth. Spielberg filmed much of the story in black and white, giving it a stark, documentary-like appearance; the recurring image of a girl in a red coat is one of the film’s most recognizable artistic choices.

Schindler’s List was filmed largely in Kraków over 72 days and won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It is sometimes confused with The Pianist or Life Is Beautiful, which also portray the Holocaust but tell different stories about different central figures.
