Which 1980 David Bowie album includes the single Ashes to Ashes?

Which 1980 David Bowie album includes the single “Ashes to Ashes”? The answer is Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).

Released in September 1980, Scary Monsters was Bowie's 14th studio album and marked a major artistic and commercial success after the more experimental Berlin period. “Ashes to Ashes” was issued as the lead single in August 1980, ahead of the album, and became Bowie's second UK number-one single. Its lyrics revisited Major Tom, the astronaut introduced in “Space Oddity,” while its striking Pierrot imagery helped make the video one of Bowie's most memorable.

The album was recorded in New York and London with longtime producer Tony Visconti. Its other well-known tracks include “Fashion,” “Teenage Wildlife,” and the title song. A common mix-up is Lodger, another Bowie album from the late 1970s: “Ashes to Ashes” has connections to that era in its personnel and visual style, but it is not a Lodger track. “Ashes to Ashes” appears as the fourth track on the original album's first side.
