Where was Arsenal’s opening 2026–27 Premier League match played?

The story behind the answer

Arsenal’s opening 2026–27 Premier League match was played at Emirates Stadium.

The north London ground hosted Arsenal’s 3–0 victory over Coventry City on Friday, 21 August 2026. It also staged the ceremonial opening of the new Premier League season because Arsenal were the reigning champions.

Emirates Stadium has been Arsenal’s home since 2006, when the club moved from Highbury. It is located in Holloway, in north London, and has a listed capacity of 60,704 for the 2026–27 season.

The stadium name is sometimes confused with Wembley Stadium, England’s national ground. Wembley is also in London, but it is not Arsenal’s home venue and did not host the opening Premier League fixture.
