Where is Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ headquarters and manufacturing plant?

The story behind the answer

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ headquarters and manufacturing plant are in Goodwood, West Sussex.

The Goodwood site in southern England began producing modern Rolls-Royce cars in 2003, after BMW established Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as a new company. The facility is located near the Goodwood Estate and was designed around low-volume, highly individualized production.

Goodwood is not the same as Crewe, where Bentley cars were produced under the former Rolls-Royce-owned arrangement. It is also different from Derby, the historic centre of Rolls-Royce aircraft-engine development. These locations are often mixed up because Rolls-Royce’s automotive and aerospace histories were connected for much of the twentieth century.

At Goodwood, craftsmen assemble vehicles such as Phantom, Ghost and Spectre. The plant also supports bespoke personalization, allowing customers to specify unusual colors, materials and interior details.
