Where does Captain Jack get trapped in the 2007 film "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"?

In Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Captain Jack Sparrow gets trapped in Davy Jones' Locker. The Kraken drags Jack and the Black Pearl into the sea at the end of Dead Man's Chest, and the third film begins with his crew planning a rescue.

Davy Jones' Locker is portrayed as a strange, barren, surreal realm rather than simply the ocean floor.
