Dragon's Den moved to MediaCityUK when filming transferred from Pinewood Studios in 2012. MediaCityUK is a large mixed-use development at Salford Quays in Greater Manchester and became an important centre for British broadcasting.
The move reflected the wider growth of MediaCityUK as a production location. The site houses studios, offices and media organisations, including major BBC operations. Dragon's Den therefore became associated not only with its investor panel but also with the north-west England location where later episodes were made.
Pinewood Studios, west of London, is famous for film and television production, so it can be confused with the programme's later home. The key date is 2012: that is when the production moved to MediaCityUK rather than remaining at Pinewood.
