When was Pokémon Pokopia first announced?

Pokémon Pokopia was first announced in September 2025.

The announcement took place during a Nintendo Direct and introduced the game as a new Pokémon spin-off built around slow-paced life simulation, crafting, and sandbox construction. Its central reveal was that players would control a Ditto transformed into a human-like character.

The announcement came before the game’s release on March 5, 2026. Later trailers and presentations added details about multiplayer, special Pokémon, the post-apocalyptic setting, and the game’s habitat-building systems.

September 2025 is easy to confuse with other important dates. The release date was March 5, 2026, while the Bubbly Basin expansion arrived in August 2026. The original reveal, however, belongs to September 2025, when Nintendo first presented Pokopia to the public.
