What year was Assassin's Creed Syndicate released worldwide?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Syndicate was released worldwide in 2015.

Ubisoft launched the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2015, with a Windows release following in November. Syndicate is set in Victorian London in 1868 and follows twin Assassin protagonists Jacob Frye and Evie Frye.

The story focuses on the Frye twins' campaign against Templar influence in London. Its setting introduces industrial-era transport, including trains and carriages, as well as a grappling hook that helps the characters cross the city. The game also features historical figures such as Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens, and Alexander Graham Bell.

Syndicate is distinct from Assassin's Creed Unity, which preceded it and was released in 2014. It was the last main series entry released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before Assassin's Creed Origins moved the franchise toward a more action role-playing structure.
