What was Wild World's tentative title when it was announced at E3 2004?

When Wild World was announced at E3 2004, its tentative title was Animal Crossing DS.

The name described the platform rather than the game's eventual subtitle. Nintendo used the announcement to highlight features enabled by the handheld, including the Nintendo DS touch screen and multiplayer capabilities. The final title, Animal Crossing: Wild World, was adopted before the game's release in 2005.

Wild World became the second major Animal Crossing installment, following the GameCube version. It preserved the series' real-time structure: the console clock controlled daily routines, seasons, and events. It also introduced online village visits through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, allowing players to travel to friends' towns. That service was later discontinued in May 2014.

The title is easy to confuse with Animal Forest DS, a descriptive name sometimes associated with the Japanese franchise, or with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Neither was the official tentative name reported for the E3 2004 announcement.
