What was the original Japanese title of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?

The original Japanese title of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was also Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Unlike some series releases, the Japanese edition retained the English subtitle “Snake Eater.” The game was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and directed by Hideo Kojima, with its Cold War espionage story set in 1964.

The subtitle refers both to the protagonist’s survival mission and to the game’s emphasis on eating food found in the wilderness. Later versions used the title Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and added features such as a more flexible camera, online play in some releases, and additional content.
