The Venture was the ship that carried dinosaurs from Isla Sorna to San Diego in The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
In the film’s later section, InGen’s expedition transports a Tyrannosaurus and its juvenile offspring aboard the cargo ship The Venture. The ship reaches San Diego without a living crew visible on deck, setting up the Tyrannosaurus’s escape into the city.
The sequence echoes classic lost-monster and maritime horror stories, especially through its deserted vessel and unexplained deaths. It also expands the franchise beyond an isolated island, showing the consequences of moving genetically recreated animals into a populated urban environment.
The ship is sometimes confused with the Arcadia, which is associated with the evacuation of dinosaurs from Isla Nublar in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The Arcadia is not the vessel that brings the adult Tyrannosaurus to San Diego in The Lost World.
