What was the name of the New York hotel where Tesla lived from 1934 until his death?

The story behind the answer

Tesla lived at the New Yorker Hotel from 1934 until his death in 1943. The large Manhattan hotel became his final home and is closely linked with the last years of the inventor's life.

Tesla moved there in 1934 after living at several other New York hotels, including the Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis, Hotel Pennsylvania, and Hotel Governor Clinton. He occupied room 3327 and continued receiving visitors, speaking with reporters, and pursuing ideas about electricity, wireless power, and futuristic weapons. He also maintained his daily habit of feeding pigeons.

Tesla died alone in room 3327 on January 7, 1943, at age 86. An assistant medical examiner listed coronary thrombosis as the cause of death. Because he died during World War II and had discussed an alleged “death ray,” the U.S. government later seized his possessions for review. The hotel remains a Tesla landmark, though he spent only the final nine years of his life there.
