What was the name of the first UK Dragon's Den investor panel?

The first UK Dragon's Den investor panel consisted of Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard.

This five-person panel appeared when the British version launched in 2005. It established the programme's core setup: entrepreneurs faced several investors together, meaning a proposal could attract one dragon, multiple dragons or no offer at all.

The panel changed over time as investors left and new ones joined. Deborah Meaden became a dragon from the third series, while Theo Paphitis joined during the second series. Those later arrivals are therefore not members of the original five-person panel.

The first panel also included two investors, Woodroffe and Richard, who did not remain regular dragons for the programme's full run. Peter Jones was the only original member to continue across every UK series.
